Tenryu Horizon Slow Jigging Rod

Description

The Tenryu Horizon HSL is a rod, specially designed for Slow Jigging. It is particularly effective for slow pitch and long fall jerk.

The Tenryu are Made in Japan. They are rods based on simplicity, but they have the unique ability to enable metal jigs move sideways with extremely short strokes, due to their highly elastic blank, either with fast, or slow retrieve.

The blank has been designed to achieve high levels of elasticity, sensitivity but also strength, hence no predator is a an easy match for them. It has semi-parabolic action.

All the guides in the Tenryu Horizon are K-Series with Titanium frame and parts of them have been specially made for these rods. The separate grip is also a one-of-a-kind design for these models.

Tenryu is always monitoring the various rod construction methods, originating in various places around the world.

Tenryu has employed the Magna Flex method for the construction of the Horizon series. Today’s rods have become far more lightweight, than the rods from ten years ago. This is achieved by controlling the concentration of resin impregnated amongst carbon fiber molecules.

The challenge for each manufacturer is to combine in a rod the lesser weight possible, with elasticity and strength. To maintain elasticity and strength, different materials such as Boron and Kevlar fiber have to be added, increasing inevitably the weight of the rod. The Tenryu Carbon Nano Tube material has appeared to solve this situation. The CNT penetrates into the resin connecting the carbon fiber molecules and allows them to connect tightly. This material improves strength, maintains elasticity and keeps the total weight of the rod, low.

Tenryu has equipped the Red Flip rod series with the T-free guide setting. This is a combination of LG, LDB and K-Frame guides, designed for tangle free fishing even with ultra-light PE lines.
