Description
Directly from Shimano Japan Domestic range, the new Lunamis is a high-end proposal for Inshore spinning. Specifically developed to target Seabass, this rod represents the ultimate incorporation of Shimanos latest technologies: an ultimate level of light weight, high precision and sensitivity, reached thanks to technologies such as the Spiral X Core blank, Carbon Monocoque handle, Ci4+ Perfection reel seat and a combination of Shimano X Guide and Fuji Titanium SiC guides.
Compared with the old model, the Shimano Lunamis is up to 15 gr lighter. The new Shimano Lunamis is an ultra-lightweight spinning rod. In order to achieve light weight, Shimano adopted the lightweight and high-strength Spiral X Core rod body technology and the lightweight and high-sensitivity integrated Carbon Fiber Grip technology. The advantage of lighter weight is that the acuity and rebound force are greatly improved when handling and the Lunamis has evolved into a fishing rod with higher precision.
It can be used in various fishing grounds, and it can be adapted to fishing from short to long distances. Many targets, mainly Sea bass, can be tackled.
Let’s take however a closer look at those details that make this rod a Show Stopper for Shimano. You might think that the Casting Weight of 6-25 gr and 7-35 gr sound without focus and you might be wondering to what extend you can charge heavy lures with this Shimano rod. Rest assured that the Lunamis can easily handle – or even cross – the upper limits of its Casting Weight and handle it incredibly well. If you are a Seabass fishing enthusiast you know that there is no limit to the techniques you can exploit or the lures to use. In most cases more than one rod is needed to cover the whole range of Seabass fishing techniques. That was until now. This particular rod and the way it performs can easily deal with many anglers complete bass lure fishing needs.
One technology that needs to be singled out is the Carbon Monocoque. The Carbon Monocoque is an integrated hollow, rear grip, made of carbon. This advanced design removes the need for extra material to be wrapped on to the blank, is extremely lightweight and offer excellent transfer of vibration from the blank to the hand. When compared with existing grips, the Carbon Monocoque is up to 10 gr lighter and increases sensitivity up to 130%, enabling the angler to feel every vibration of the lure and the exact moment a fish attacks.
Its action is nice and precise. It will feel like a more powerful lure rod in how it bends, but scaled down for a lighter version. It is without comparison lighter and more responsive with the lighter lures, compared to many of the 10-30 gr, or 7-35 gr lure rods. It is equipped with a combination of Shimano X Guide and Fuji Titanium SiC guides. The handle design and length, the guides, the construction quality, the handling, all shout that the Shimano Lunamis will probably be one of the best and lighter Seabass rods you have ever fished with.
