Description
The Effilé Stainless Steel Slim Folding Knife is the perfect tool for fishing aficionados. The flexible blade, sharp edge, and slim handle make it ideal for filleting fish.
The Slimline models from Opinel are a deluxe version of the classic French pocket knife. The handle is a bit longer and more ergonomically shaped. The blade is slimmer and thinner. Because of this, it is often used by fishermen for filleting fish. But plenty of enthusiasts use it as a replacement for their normal Opinel pocket knife. In the woods or just at the table.
The knife is lightweight yet robust, and its elegant design makes it a fisherman’s favorite. Grab your Effilé and let the adventure begin.
The Effilé features a stainless steel mirror finish blade, a Virobloc safety ferrule stamped with the new logo and a wood handle. Its design is sleek and elegant.
Although it is considered a pocket knife because it folds, it’s also very handy in the kitchen for filleting fish, for example. In fact, its fine, flexible and sharp blade means you can cut with precision.
Available in four handle variations with Olive, Beech, Padouk or Ebony wood.
The Padouk and Olive wood models have a mirror-polished blade.

Stainless Steel Sandvik 12C27
Opinel uses Sandvik 12C27, modified stainless steel for its knives. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.
Handle
Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles,it has a light and homogeneous color, a fine and regular grain and a very strong resistance over time.
Olive, the mythical tree of the Mediterranean ! This hard wood has a yellow to orange appearance and has a dense and often tortuous veining. Soft to the touch it has a nice polish.
Padouk is a reddish brown wood from Central and West Africa. Padouk, also known as African coral wood, is also used for musical instruments and furniture. With its striking red colour, padouk offers not only an attractive aesthetic, but also a durable and resilient structure that can withstand daily use.
Ebony is a rare and luxurious wood coming from the forests of Africa. Thanks to its beautiful density and deep black color, ebony is traditionally used in marquetry. To get a velvet touch, a specific wax is applied manually on each handle.
Virobloc
All Slim Effilé Pocket Knifes include the patented Virobloc safety ring, that keeps the blade locked open while in use and locked shut while in transport. The Safety Ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives, from the N° 06 size. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open , it is now possible to lock the blade closed .
Cleaning
With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blade with warm water while taking care not to soak the wooden handle. Leave the blade to dry before closing .
Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
