Description
Woven Roving is a widely used material in composite construction, with perfect properties of reinforcement, corrosion-resistance and insulation. Woven roving is the primary strength material used in fiberglass boat building. It can also be used with chopped strand mat, to fabricate large size objects, such as boat, vehicle components, pressure tank, house, etc. Approximately over 90% of boat hull’s over 20ft in length, are built with Woven Roving within their construction.
With glass roving fabric, you build up layer thickness – of about 0.5 mm – very quickly, which is ideal when a thick laminate with high strength is desired. At it’s best is sandwiched between alternating layers matting. Provides high tensile and flexural strength in laminates.
The fabric type is suitable for use in combination with polyester resin, epoxy resin and vinylester resin.
Sold per meter.
Technical Characteristics
Used alone, or in combination with other glass fabrics such as Mat.
Easily shaped and adapted to even the most complex surfaces.
Offers high rigidity in construction and resistance to tension and bending.
Improves mechanical properties compared to a monolithic structure entirely with Mat.
Succeeding a fairly finished surface compared to other thicker reinforcements.
Fuses perfectly with all other reinforcing fabrics and core materials.
Compatible with all resins .
