Description
The new Shimano Kairiki 8 is a renewed, 8 carrier braid, which is produced in Japan and now features the VT Construction Method braiding technology. The new tight weave VT construction is created through applying high tension at opposing directions during the braiding process. The fibers are weaved evenly at all angles resulting in a smoother finish, reduced diameter and a long cast.
It is a very strong and smooth PE line which is perfect for casting great distances. It is available in the most popular diameters for in-shore fishing, ranging from 0.06mm up to 0.23mm with a staggering breaking strength of 22.5kg
The Shimano Kairiki braid has the perfect properties for spinning, in both fresh and saltwater, since it is highly sensitive and very smooth, which also results in noise reduction and aids to a stealthier approach.
The Multi Color is especially interesting for fishing at greater depths. Due to the smoothness and low diameter, Kairiki 8 is a great line for jigging since it has low water resistance and due to the maximum stretch of < 3.0 %, it is very sensitive as well. The 8 carrier gives the smooth feel that allows it to slide gently through your guides, providing outstanding casting qualities and brilliant guide protection. This smooth finish of Shimano Kairiki also means there is less thrumming on retrieve and when trolled.
These attributes make Kairiki 8 an excellent choice for finesse fishing, casting lures and tying knots where smoothness, sensitivity and castability are all required to give that extra edge against your next encounter.
Having said all the above, the Shimano Kairiki braid is one of those products where you can really afford to buy and try, as the claims are pretty strong, and at its entry level price tag, you might find that Kairiki provides all you want in a braid without blowing the budget.
